I have been watching the All History Channel a lot lately. Still trying to figure out why the Nazis were so mad at the Jews that they wanted to murder them all. Still haven't found the answer. But I did see why many of our young men and women who go to war lose their minds. You have heard the saying "war is hell"?! Well, WWI,WWII, and the Viet Nam war were horrible, horrible to behold. Scores of millions of lives lost. Bodies being blown to bits, arms and legs strewn about like it was nothing, dead, mutilated bodies piled on top of each other. Bomb craters and broken tree trunks where forests used to be, men crying and screaming like babies, friends dying right next to you, fighting for your life just to survive. These are thins you have to live with for the rest of your life. Those doing the fighting feel as if they've just been given over for cannon fodder. No one cares about their lives. Wives mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers back home not knowing what they're going through. Dying alone in unknown lands, not really knowing why. A vague belief that somehow they're making better a country that is really being destroyed, bringing something called democracy to them, as if democracy at the point of a gun is something they want. Killing them AND destroying their country. Is war really worth it? Really?!
